The Omega 3's in fish oil are good for me, right? Studies on islanders who have no cardiovascular disease involve them eating a traditional diet rich in omega 3's, not from pills. The ideal way to get Omega 3's is from our food. Many of the pills available on the market cause you to be exposed to oils that have been overheated, have become rancid, have too much mercury or come from low in Omega 3's (farmed fish.) A diet with wild-caught fish, organic pastured chickens and beef, cage-free pastured chicken eggs, organic RAW dairy, walnuts, avocados, fruits, veggies, etc. will naturally have good amounts of Omega 3 to Omega 6, which is the key. The ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 should be 1:1 or 1:2 on average, naturally.
